ENCOUNTERS IN TIME

2012 - 2014

The project - Encounters in Time (Living in the Tower of Babel) is a project of two bilingual high schools, where students study some of the subjects in foreign languages (English, Spanish). The project focuses on relations between Spain and Czech Republic (Moravia, Silesia, Bohemia) in modern and contemporary history (16th century till now).

The main goals are - understanding the relations between Spain and Czech Republic, build and strengthen their intercultural knowledge and find out more about the cultural and artistic heritage of both countries.

Students as well as teachers will improve their communication skills (in English and Spanish) and the Spanish partner will try to reach the elementary level of communication in Czech. The mutual meetings, excursions and visits onto the "relevant historical places" will be an excellent opportunity to use and improve their English over real topics; all that should result into the development of their interdisciplinary skills.

The project should also increase interest of young people for studying and living in the united Europe and develop a partnership between both institutions. It will naturally affect both the students and teachers, as well as the dissemination of results in local and regional communication media will reach broader audience and thus add into popularization of history among young people.
